Treble Dodging Minor Methods

Treble Bob: Kent and Oxford both have the characteristic "slow work", doing seconds on the front until the treble comes back to dodge with you in 1-2. You always dodge 5-6 up and down at the back, but in 3-4, your work depends on whether you are above (behind) or below (in front of) the treble. If you are above the treble, you make places in 3-4, otherwise dodge. In Kent, these are 3rds and 4ths, or 4ths and 3rds, continuing on in the direction you were going.  In Oxford, if you were coming in, you make 3rds and go back out; if you were going out, you make 4ths and go back in.

Surprise: The table below includes all 41 standard Surprise methods. Methods in the same column have the same work above the treble; methods in the same row have the same work below the treble. For instance, if you ring Cambridge above the treble and London below, you get York. The first six columns are also in pairs; the Norwich backwork is the 6ths place version of Westminster, Primrose is 6ths place Cambridge, and Canterbury is 6ths place Carlisle. Method names in italics indicate methods which don't have Plain Bob lead ends.

The Beverley and Surfleet rows each contain methods which are not much different from the Cambridge row; the overall "shape" of each method is the same, although some of the work in 1-2 and 3-4 in changed. The Ipswich and Cunecastre rows only differ at the half-lead; whilst Cambridge has a 56 place notation at the half lead, Ipswich has 36 and Cunecastre has 36.  The London and Wells rows only differ slightly, as to whether there is a point or a whole lead on the front. Other similar rows are those for Norwich and Warkworth, and for Lincoln and Coldstream.
